Orientation for the Summer in the Arts Program
Student Support & Safety:

Welcome to the Summer in the Arts Program at Norland Senior High School! This summer, students will focus on Visual Arts, Photography/Videography, and Band in a creative, supportive, and enriching environment.
Let’s go over what students and families can expect during the program.
Student Support & Safety:

Herbert Jean serves as the Director of the Summer in the Arts Program.

The Band Director will be announced once the name is confirmed and approved.

Staff will share application details, arrival information, uniform instructions, and field trip updates with registered families.
Family Involvement:
- Parents and guardians will receive regular updates and are invited to attend student performances and showcases. Your encouragement and involvement make a huge difference.
Summer Program Daily Schedule
Here’s the tentative daily schedule:

| 9:00–9:15 AM | Wellness, Mindfulness, and Daily Focus |
| 9:15–11:45 AM | Arts Concentration: Visual Arts, Photography/Videography, or Band |
| 11:45 AM–12:15 PM | Break, Lunch, and Student Check-In |
| 12:15–12:45 PM | Project Work, Portfolio Development, or Group Rehearsal |
| 12:45–1:00 PM | Reflection, Closing Circle, and Dismissal |
The daily time is currently tentative and will be confirmed with registered families before the program begins.
Camp Components
Key Components

Visual Arts – Hands-on creative instruction that helps students strengthen technique, expression, and portfolio development.

Photography/Videography – Practical media training that helps students capture, edit, and tell stories through visual content.

Band – Music instruction, rehearsal, and performance preparation for participating students.

Program Leadership – Herbert Jean serves as Program Director. The Band Director will be announced once confirmed.

Uniforms & Field Trips – Students may need money for field trip food and the program uniform. Uniforms will be provided to students when they arrive.

Application Next Steps – Registered families will receive follow-up information about how to complete the application process.
