Hype or Value? The Sneaker Conversation

Every year there is a new pair everybody has to have, and every year somebody’s mama is looking at that price tag. Are they worth it, or are we getting played?

The Power of Creativity

What making something does for a person, told by the students who make things every day after school.

Our first episode is about suicide prevention. If you or someone you know is struggling, call or text 988 for the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. Free, twenty four hours a day, and a real person answers.

Host

auditions

Six students, one chair. Forty seven seconds from the auditions.

We are choosing the next host of The Craft Room, and the audition is built to find one thing above all else: someone who listens. A host who can ask a good follow up question is worth more than one who reads well, because most of this job is reacting to something you did not expect.

  1. Slate and introSixty seconds, no script. How comfortable are you as yourself?
  2. Light cold readEnergy and camera presence, and whether the funny lines land.
  3. Serious cold readTone control. The hardest skill on this show.
  4. Live interviewThree minutes with a guest. This is the part that decides it.
  5. One improv questionAsk something real, then react to whatever comes back.

The host is one of ten jobs on this show. Tell us which one interests you, because our best editor is probably auditioning for host today.
